There are three major parties Chuan Han, Tibetan, Yunnan Theravada Buddhism in China, which have an important status and influence. Theravada Buddhism in Yunnan unique religious factions. Unfortunately, Study and research of Yunnan Theravada Buddhism is the weak link and point, it gets less attention when comparing Yunnan Han Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism. Yunnan Theravada Buddhism has few academic research and reports. Especially the funeral rites research data of Yunnan Han Buddhism was almost empty; therefore it is necessary for us to do the comparative study of this area. In Yunnan, Theravada Buddhism, has become a frontier Dai areas of a universal belief in religion, with the south-west economic development, particularly in the western developed into a national economic development strategies, including the Dai, Jingpo, Blang, Wa and so on those within the border region has gradually strengthen its cooperation with the Mainland and overseas economic and cultural ties, the impact of the Han Buddhism, folk religion and ritual, commercialism and culture in the infiltration of a state, it is no doubt that the original form of Yunnan Theravada Buddhism would be changing. If we fail to pay close attention to field research work, we will lose an irreplaceable religious cultural resource. The author got to Mengding Town and set to a period of two weeks of field research on January 2,2009, investigating and researching Yunnan Theravada Buddhist funeral, the whole process of the elders passed away, namely, "La Luo Funerals", and carried out detailed records and data collection, combined with ethnology, cultural anthropology, the same customs theoretical knowledge. Finally, the process of Theravada Buddhist monk's funeral can show the belief and religion. This survey covered the entire field of religious, political, social, ethnic, and their ties to religion should have its own unique existence, as a culture, which to a certain extent the history of human development and social customs related. That is, "La Luo Funerals" reflects the values of the Dai people and the aesthetic taste and members of society values.
