With the rapid development of the city construction, the traditional life style is changing in an unnoticed way. Kinds of folk art are vanishing in different ways and degrees. As a part if our national culture, intangible cultural heritage is playing an important role in every respect in our life. Furthermore, it is a media of cross-cultural communication and it is an essential part of the forces in promoting our cultural soft power.This topic selection aims at analyzing the relationship between the implication of Beijing Kites and our daily life, enhancing people's awareness of intangible heritage protection, and promoting the overall implement of the protection measures. On the other hand, with the reflection on the philosophy, the design of the figure, color and the visual transmission in the art of kites, it is hoped that the public or even the whole country will pay more attention to the folk art.The paper proceeds from the concepts of intangible cultural heritage and the art of kites, stresses on the survey of the Beijing kites system, mainly analyses the relationship between the modeling system of kites and the figures and color of plane designing. In addition, through the on-site inspection of the life and the environment of workplace of the folk artists, involving the theoretical research of the Chinese five-color system, semeiology, and modeling system, it can be realized to do some intensive studies of the intangible heritage protection. In the end, the paper severs to appeal for more research in the traditional culture and the elements of folk art. It is also expected that more Chinese traditional elements and theory will be used in our design. Besides, the public and the government should strengthen the protection of intangible cultural heritage to make it achieve complete succession and development.
