Legalist Han Fei was comprehensive expression of thought in the late Period of Warring States. His view of history is one of his theoretical guidance for the implementation of political reform. First of all he had to explain the nature of history: firstly, he used"Tao"and"reason"to articulate the relationship between the changes of history. In Han Fei's view,"Tao"is not only the universe's origin, but also common regularity of changes in the natural world and universal laws in human society."Reason"is not only the specific properties of things, but also the inherent specificity of the law of all things. Fundamentally speaking,"Dao"is"regularity", it is all the same, but in the actual situation of"Tao","Tao"is corresponding to the universe of the"truth", if"Truth"changes,"Tao"will also change as well. Secondly, he considered that the development of history is changeable, so emperor must get ready for change. Thirdly, he had a detailed description on the objective factors of changeable history from the amount of goods and demographic reason.History is the history of human activity, to talk about history, we have to talk about the question of the relationship between people and history, and he talked it from three points to explain that everyone has responsibility for history. First of all, he pointed out that each one has a"profit and avoid loss"in nature, and all of people take this as their base of action. His second argument talked about the history and the sages in detail, and to explain the meaning of the sages and describe their characteristics. Furthermore, he elaborated the role of sages in history: they not only create their own civilization, but also make the country wealthy and strong through the interaction of"law","statecra"and"power". In order to show that sages have to contribute to the development of history, but their role in history are different.Han Fei criticized the Confucian ethics by the view of history, and then laid a solid theoretical foundation for the monarchy's implementation of the rule of law concept, for which he passed through three aspects to criticize the Confucian moral. First, he said the Confucian moral's unrealistic in detail from gains and avoid losses of human. Then, he demonstrated the Confucian morality was outdated from the perspective of a historical dimension. Thirdly, in Han Fei's view, benevolence and righteousness, filial piety advocated by the Confucian is harmful.
