A Study Of Enlightening Sage Shrine Worship In The Confucian Temple

Enlightening Sage Shrine(???),as construction for worshiping Confucius'ancestors and fathers of past sages and past Confucianists,belongs to Confucian temple.The Confucian Temple worship hovers between Confucian orthodoxy and governance system.Enlightening Sage Shrine become a remembrance and worship mode which aims at worhipping Confucius's ancestors,so Enlightening Sage Shrine hovers among Confucian orthodoxy,governance system and human relations.Establishment of Enlightening Sage Shrine is originally meant to solve the conflicts about human relations on Confucian temple worship.As many scholars are endlessly debated from the Song Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty about the purpose of Confucian temple worship,Enlightening Sage Shrine is expanded from one corner of Queli Street(??)to the whole country,and develops from one consanguine ancestral temple into one national system in the Great Rites Controversy(???)of Ming Dynasty.Since worshipping five generations of ancestors,the Shrine upgraded to become the Worship Sage Shrine(???)in the Qing Dynasty.Meanwhile,Enlightening Sage Shrine had been extended to Vietnam and Korea and had new changes.As a part of national sacrificial system,Enlightening Sage Shrine worship about ritual and construction must follow regulations of national sacrificial ceremony,but the fete is influenced by Confucian temple worship in the concrete implementation.Meanwhile,the difference of worship requires particular attention on Vietnam and Korea.By studying the establishment of origin,architecture,ritual of Enlightening Sage Shrine worship system,this paper reveals the important role of in maintaining governance system,strengthen the Confucian orthodoxy,and straightening out human relations in traditional society.
