The Survey And Research Of The Mutual Relationship Among Words Of Zheng Zi Tong

Zheng Zi Tong is a large-scale wordbook which is designed to rectify Zi Hui. It occupies an important position in our history of wordbook which served as a connecting link between the preceding Zi Hui and the following Kang Xi Dictionary. Zheng Zi Tong originated form Zi Hui, but it is improved in respects of stylistic rules and layout, note, evidence, pronunciation and so on compared with Zi Hui. Besides, Zheng Zi Tong judges vulgar and difficultly distinguishing words forcefully and make great achievements, which has a profound impact on the later age wordbook. In this paper, I make every effort to make comprehensive analysis and evaluation to the work of an inter-relationship among communicating words of Zheng Zi Tong using the theories of Chinese philology, Chinese character configuration, interpretation of ancient texts and lexicography as a guide, as well as regarding the materials of reorganizing word relations of Zheng Zi Tong as an object of study.This article first shows the meaning and the mutual relationship among terms by analyzing the terms used in the communicating words of Zheng Zi Tong. Then in the paper, I analyze the categories that the communicating words of Zheng Zi Tong referring to. After that, I make comprehensive analysis and summary in aspect of the right side, the wrong side and the suspending side of the communicating words of Zheng Zi Tong, and make a comparatively more objective and reasonable valuation to the pros and cons of the work of communicating words of Zheng Zi Tong. At last, the article pointes out the value of studying the word relations of Zheng Zi Tong:on the one hand it can provide some correction for the work of making textual criticisms and explanations of predecessors, and can be used as reference to the compilation and revision of the later age wordbook. On the other hand, it can make textual criticisms and explanations to the puzzled words concluded in the large-scale wordbook, which lays the foundations of arrangement and norms of words that handed down.
