Our world has come into an age of globalization nowadays. Globalization has become an inevitable fact and has exerted a profound influence on every aspect of our life. There is an overgrowing concern for the cultural globalization,which is the accessory of economic globalization. Globalization also constantly generates the cultural anxiety. People are anxious that globalization will eventually extinguish the peculiarity of national culture. In face of the tide of globalization, all nations should keep and spread the peculiarity of their national culture so as to avoid losing the peculiarity of national culture.With the quick economic development of China and the advancement of China's international position, China communicates more and more frequently with the other nations in the world. People around the world show more and more concern on China and Chinese culture. For Chinese culture and Chinese translators, it is very important to translate Chinese works into foreign languages. Therefore, translation of Chinese works into foreign languages in the age of globalization is of great significance and plays an active role in keeping and spreading Chinese culture, taking part in the equal dialogues between national cultures, turning round the unfavorable balance of trabslation and protecting cultural vitality.This thesis deals with the translation of Chinese works into foreign languages. It firstly discusses the importance of the translation of Chinese works into foreign languages, and then expounds systematically the related aspects of translators of Chinese works into foreign languages: the cultural task, cultural identity and cultural attitudes. In the age of globalization, the world will be filled with various national cultures. And the translators should have an opening and tolerant attitudes towards all languages and cultures, helping build a harmonious cultural situation.
