The Research About The Phenomenon Of Diglossia Of Hebei University Students

The diglossia phenomenon is the coexistence of Putonghua and dialects period of time phenomenon. About the definition of diglossia, domestic and international scholars have not reached consensus at present, the diglossia used in this article refers to the concept that people using standard language and a dialect with great skill. Here the standard language refers to Putonghua.The research on the use of language of college students have done by a lot of people , but research on the diglossia phenomenon for colleges in Hebei Province,especially in Hebei University campus rarely seen.Based on this situation, I did the investigations and give interviews to Hebei University students in the form of questionnaire and used the software of EXCEL and SPSS17.0 to analyse and organize the language material, to understand the current situation of our college students on the use of language as well as their attitude towards dialect and Putonghua, to analyse the phenomenon of conversion between the dialect and Putonghua on Hebei university students, to explain the specific motivation of production of the diglossia phenomenon, and make some suggestions on these issues.We also analyse the diglossia phenomenon of college students deeply and forecast its future trends.Through a survey analysis found that the reason for the phenomenon of diglossia in the campus is closely related to the attitudes that students towards dialect and Putonghua,in addition to this, we also found that production of the diglossia phenomenon in campus is inseparable from communicative objects, communicative situations, topics and some psychological factors of the students. In the final part of this paper, compare the survey data with other areas, analyze their similarities and differences, and try to explore the deep-seated causes.The contents of this thesis is divided into five chapters: Chapter 1 introduces the research statement of bilingual and diglossia at home and abroad. Chapter 2, Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 is the emphasis of this article, investigate, analyse and reflect on the phenomenon of Putonghua and dialects towards Hebei University students in the form of questionnaires, research college studentes attitudes towards Putonghua and dialects and causes of the diglossia phenomenon, and on this basis, compared with other regions on the subject of the survey results, try to do some explanation. Chapter 5 as the conclusion of this article.
