Zheng Xie, YiFu, who lived in Song Dynasty from 1022 to 1072. In the fifth year of Huangyou, he won the first place in the Jinshi Test. He once joined Jixian Yuan, and rose to the rank of Du Zhipanguan, compiled Qijuzhu, Zhizhigao. In the first year of Xining, he was entitled Bachelor of Hanlin. Zheng Xie, who was well known for his outstanding literary talent at his early age, was good at poem and noted for poetry. History of Song thinks highly of his poems:"His poetry is so mighty and well-structured that there is no parallel with it". All poetry of Song Dynasty collects seven volumes of his poetry form 580 to 586, which is up to 400 poems. Zheng Xie's poetry has a variety of content and form, fresh and natural language as well as a sense of intense realism and artistic, however, people perform little research in his poetry. Based on this, and according to his life thoughts and his literary ideology, this article, which consists of five parts, is intended to make a more comprehensive and deeper exploration.Part I: Description of Zheng Xie's life and thoughts. When Zheng Xie was young, he experienced many hardships to travel to study, but he was always failing in the Jinshi Test. However, he never gave up, instead, he managed to face life's frustrations with a positive and aggressive attitude. Finally, he won the champion in Jinshi Test of the fifth year of Huangyou. From then, he set foot in government, and ever rose to the rank of Hanlin degree. He was an upright person who was concerned and worried about state affairs, social reality, and people's sufferings, with an obvious tendency of Confucian thought, which in turn affected his literary ideas. Zheng Xie advocated:"The article should be coherent with the ideology of the saints and the commentary should refer to the present and ancient."(Encouraged scholars),"The admonition that is practical should be followed. Otherwise, advise resulting from extensive discussion should be taken.", and he insisted on getting right on the job by cutting off misstatements. Part II: Description of the content of Zheng Xie's poetry. Zheng Xie's poetry abounds in styles, such as lyrical poetry, narrative poems, reasoning poetry, portrait poetry. His lyric poetry were sincere with a sense of deep and heavy patriotism, or a sense of reluctant because of separation ,or a sense of pastoral leisure and a sigh rooting in present's miserable as well as old wounds. His narrative poems care more about the author's real concern, anxiety and worry. Most of his poetry sing exhortation. Zheng Xie once won the champion of Jinshi Test and furthermore his official position was high, so he had the opportunity to tour pastoral landscape simultaneously leaving us a lot of poetry as a portrait of nature. Meanwhile, as he lived in Northern Song Dynasty, which was characterized with sharp social contradictions, and his political career went up and down, the harsh reality sometimes forced him to focus on landscapes and wrote a lot of poems to portray nature.Part III: Discussion of Zheng Xie's poetry art. Zheng Xie's poetry abounds in poetic imageries including symbols of virtuous pine, bamboo, plum, chrysanthemum as well as whales, Jiao, Dragon which can swim in the sea, and pigeon, pheasant, roe, ape which are bizarre. In addition, different imageries express author's different thoughts and feelings. Zheng Xie's poems pay attention to the creation of mood, or feelings change in the light of the environment, or empathy connecting the scene. Author's artistic methods of literary depositing combined with presenting parataxis, etc. devote to formulating Zheng Xie's poetry style, which is popular, elegant and solemnity as well as harmony.Part IV: Exposition Zheng Xie's ideological origins of poetry. Zheng Xie'poems are deeply influenced by Book of Songs, Yuefu up to Du Fu's poetry traditions of realism , so many of his poems are full of thoughts of concern about the fate of his nation and his people as well as safety of the society. Zheng Xie's poetry is similar to Li Bai's in many aspects, for instance, a bright moon, wine cart, the old whale, immortal, or cross-waves, going through the sky, flying into the month, drunk sleeping on clouds and other poetry imageries, which all reflect their elegant and untrammeled characteristics.Conclusion: This paper gives a more systematic introduction of Zheng Xie's poetry including Zheng Xie's life thoughts, poetry content, poetry art, poetry origin and other aspects of his poetry, aiming to understanding and grasping Zheng Xie's poetry thoroughly.
