Study On The Tendency Verb In Ernv Yingxiong Zhuan

This thesis studies the tendency Verbs in Hero Legend of Sons and Daughters.In addition to its'introduction'and'conclusion',this thesis includes seven parts.Chapter 1 is a quantative analysis of the tendency verbs in the novel.There are thirty tendency verbs among which thirteen are the simple tendency ones,and seventeen are composite ones.the simple tendency ones can be listed as follows: lai(来),qu(去),shang(上),xia(下),Jin(进chu(出), hui(回),guo(过),qi(起),kai(开),dao(到),zhuan(转),ru(入).The composite tendency ones are as follows:shang lai(下来),shang qu(上去),xia lai(下来),xia qu(下去),jin lai(进来),jin qu(进去),chu lai(出来),chu qu(出去),hui lai(回来),hui qu(回去),guo lai(过来),guo qu(过去),qi lai(起来),kai开来),kai qu(开去),zhuan lai(转来),zhuan qu(转去).Chapter 2 is a discussion over the tendency verbs as the the predicative headword.The tendency verb of simple tendency verb can be found in different sentence patterns in the novel.this thesis will classify them into three categories for further analysis:(1)tendency verbs with "lai or qu", (2) tendency verbs"shang or xia",(3) composite type.In Chapter 3,we will examine the tendency verbs used as the tendency complement in the novel.This usage of tendency verbs is frequent, which is to be elaborated in three categories.Chapter 4 is on the tendency verbs as the possible complement in the novel.This thesis will also analyze them in three categories.Chapter 5 is about the tendency connecting predicative phrases in the novel.This usage is rather special, which is to be analysed in the paper.In Chapter 6,the general rule of the tendency verb as the tendency complement will be explored.It is found that there are nine basic sentence types in which we can find the usage under discussion.It is aslo worthy of our attention that the particles of 'le(了)'and 'jiang(将)'can be inserted between a verb and its tendency complement.The bleaching problem with the tendency complement will be discussed in chapter 7 as a complex semantic phenomenon. The tendency complement can have tendency meaning as well as the extended meaning.We argue that the constant bleaching process of the tendency complement lies in the semantic evolvement of these complements from being tendency-oriented to being consequence-oriented or state-oriented.
