Feng Xiaogang is very different from others in the moviedom. At first he was an art designer and then he became a director. Since he worked on making New Year Greeting Films, nearly each film of his was a box office hit and Feng Xiaogang was know as a big shot in Chinese movedom. The success of Feng Xiaogang can be described as an old Chinese saying:"The times produce their heroes". In nineties of the twentieth century, with the market economy reforms, some postmodernism features of the western world had emerged in China. In the context of postmodernism, Feng Xiaogang quickly grasped the variation of time, after he had understood the historical context of social life and the popular culture features, he put the "post-modernity" well into the "New Year Greeting Films" and then won the favorite of the audiences with his unique style. His rise has become a magnificent film and it is unique in the history of Chinese film for that he opened up a new space for the Chinese film development and the provision of a new culture of reflection. In this paper, the Western postmodern cultural theory and the research methods such as logical analysis, empirical analysis of micro-macro discussion and review would be used to make a comprehensive sort of the "New Year Greeting Films" of Feng in more than last ten years. The writer would research the various causes of the modernity from these aspects of the "New Year Greeting Films" such as popularity, game-based, visual language, commercialize and so on.
