Dong Qichang devoted to the study of drawing and drawing theories in his whole life. He lived in late Ming Dynasty and was greatly influenced by in Xin Xue and Chan Buddhism. At the same time, he accepted Confucianism and effected by Daoism. All of those made his drawing aesthetic ideology had their strongpoints and formed his own aesthetic sense as well. Dong Qichang leads the calligraphy into drawing,"his calligraphy idea and painting theory."In the process of creation he found the excellent drawing skills of older generation, so he advocates"we should learn from our forefathers and makes our painting natural". He also has great achievement on Southern School classification and lead Chan Buddhism into drawing, he propounded that our drawing should express our felling in our deep heart and he became the founder of drawing mood. Dong Qichang's drawing aesthetic ideology is mainly about"happiness in drawing and enjoy the joy of creation with ink". Drawing is an entertainment in his heart. Dong Qichang breaks precedent, he drawing with heart and soul, aesthetic function of drawing was sufficiently expressed, particularly contacting personal emotion and drawing together, elegant, simplicity, releases but has law, he done well in every details in his drawing but you can never found trail's, that is the concentrate embody of his drawing art. Above all, he also studied great drawer of Song and Yuan dynasty, on the basis of this, he found classification rules between Southern School and Professional drawers. That has great influence on the drawing after Ming Dynasty. Besides the foreword and conclusion, the paper is divided into four chapters to interpret the Dong Qichang's Painting Aesthetics all-roundly. In the foreword, the author collated the Dong Qichang's Painting Aesthetics briefly and combined with feature of the late Ming era, considered that it's necessary to grasp and comprehend Dong Qichang's Painting Aesthetics synthetically. The first chapter will mainly explains the introduction of Dong Qichang and the connection between Xin Xue and drawing aesthetic ideology. The second part from creation aesthetics view, study his calligraphy idea and painting theory that leads the calligraphy into drawing. Learning from our forefathers and makes our painting natural is his great idea, Leading Chan Buddhism into drawing. The third part mainly analysis"happiness in drawing and enjoy the joy of creation with ink". Finally explain personality aesthetics of people who have Confucianism, Daoism, Chan Buddhism three religion-in-one, founding its aesthetic values and significant enlightenment to modern times drawing. The conclusion part discusses the inconsistencies of the Dong Qichang paintings and character, and summed up the value of Dong Qichang's Painting Aesthetics as will as its modern significance.
