In the history of Chinese Traditiona Painting, Mr.Dong Qichang is a very special character, His artistic thought and the practice has had the profound influence to the later generation, especial is, under the signs of his theory of "South-North sub-factions" and "Literati painting theory" artistic practice implemented and the aesthetic taste of the artistic style of the Ming and Qing dynasties beginning to shape a decisive role in. Tang and Song period Chinese painting in the history of painting is an art of the peak, which in general show the cultural style of a broad ocean, the landscape is both varied and impressive, but not with a clear preference for the style. Though in Song Dynasty Mr. Su Dongpo made the "scholar art" concept, however, fully embodies the meaning of this concept and the practice of accompanying art did not become a universal aesthetic context. Until to the Ming Dynasty in the hands of Dong Qichang, from the theory and practice to reach the height of the literati paintings of the connotation of a comprehensive and mature understanding of and concluded.This article is divided into four parts. The first part focuses on the concept of paintings as well as its formation and development. Paintings as the emergence of body painting to go through a long process of growth. From its infancy, development, maturity, style paintings inevitably goes with age and become increasingly rich sound.In the second part, by analyzing of the Late Ming Dong Qichang which this historical period of political, economic, cultural and artistic accomplishments of his own and many other objective and subjective factors, to explore the Dong Qichang "To light as faction" the aesthetic and the painting style of thinking the reasons for the formation. Dong Qichang to the division of the ancient works of art based on, but pay more attention to the "Heaven and Earth as division", and he is fluent in Zen, to promote calm, soft, peaceful, simple light, solemn and quiet respect, the mental state of Confucianism. The third part of this article by Dong Qichang calligraphy and painting works to analyze the appreciation of works of art reflected in the "indifferent Kuang-ching" of aesthetic taste.Dong Qichang have great achievements in the practice and theory of literati painting in China. In the fourth part of this article summed up that, Dong Qichang in the status of the history of Chinese painting and his painting works of art theory and painting of the late Ming painting practice and future generations arising from the far-reaching.
