In the mid-Qing Dynasty, "Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou" has become the main representative of the commercial painting. Huang Shen, an artisit, as one of the "Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou," Who famous for his poetry, calligraphy and painting especially in figure painting. By his hard work and deep photo-based, knowledge in portrait his innovative ideas with the market needs, he ultimately keeps the pace of his unigue stly in the great freehand portrait. Broaden of performance in figure painting and his art is considered as a brilliant page in history.The aim of this paper is to analysis and research the stlye of Huang Shen's figure painting and the paper can be diuided into five components:The first part is the social and historical context conluding the background of early Qing Dynasty, medium-term political, economic, academic ideas, which influnces Huang Shen. The second part is his artistic style this part from the formation of artistic style, subject characteristics,ideological and artistic, artistic achievements, the paper gives a more comprehensive and systematic understanding. In the stule of Huang Shen. The third part focuses on the changes in artistic styles of Huang Shen, this part is divided into, early period, middle period, and late period, three small parts to explore. Through the analysis of representative works, in each stage. More detailed knowledge of the characteristics and different artistic styles in each stage will be learned. The early stage, is dominated by meticulous work, is a kind of rigorous, beautiful and charming style; the medium term, art with written work, is a kind of Graceful style; the late stage of Huang Shen, is cursive picturesque, is a kind of magnificent and forceful style. The fourth part, is a horizontal comparison with his painter in his time, through the comparative analysis, further understanding of Huang Shen's unique approach will be learned.The fifth part, a conclusion, is an evaluation of Huang Shen in Chinese painting history and his contribution to the painting development.This paper explores Huang Shen's portrait in Qing Dynasty. Through the analysis, the paper explains some regularity theory, because many objective factors, it is inevitable that there are omissions and irregularities, the author hopes can get advice from the reader.
