At the beginning of the nineteenth century, the romantic thought trends swept the whole Europe. The Italy national liberation movement influenced the artists directly. At the same time, as the desolate of Italy opera seria and the old Roman fairy tales, people became more and more interested in the current life matters, and that promoted the birth of a new opera school, that is, the Italy romantic opera school, with its representative Rossini, Donizetti and Belini. From then on, the bel canto has entered a new stage, that is, the second golden stage of bel canto,a stage without castrato. And Rossini,an important figure in Italy opera history, who inherits the past and ushers the future, is regarded as one of the three "Italian bel canto school" masters.Donizetti has written sixty five operas in his life, and most of them are of different styles. The most famous and most excellent one is his Lucia Di Lammermoor, which is regarded as "the horse of soprano". It has big difficulties in singing and performing. The thesis focuses on the role shaping of the heroine Lucia. And from this research, the author wants to learn more about Donizetti's composing style, to manage this composition more precise and accurate, to grasp the music style, so that can direct the singing and performing. And it is helpful to the coloratura study. The study to this composition in abroad is very comprehensive, but to the contrary, the study is very seldom at home. There is no study about the heroine's role, so the thesis has certain academic meanings to our country's opera study. From the thesis, the author hopes people can understand this composition more wholly and meticulously, so that people can love it. By the way, the author also hopes this thesis can offer some materials for performing and teaching, in order to complete and develop our understanding and application to bel canto.
