On The Reasons Of That The Literary Canon Has Been Deconstructed In The Post-modern Culture Context

The literary canon is a hot topic of the literature study.Literary canon has exquisite art form, which is rich in cultural content. With high artistic value and cultural value in the whole of human culture, it occupies an important position.Since the reform and opening up, the social and cultural has changed with China's economic system transformation. At the same time, foreign cultural thoughts and values have influxed into China. The people's reflection and skepticism in the Social change fueled the trend of post-modernism in China. At the end of the twentieth century, with the rise of mass culture, the spread of consumption culture and the promotion of mass media, a deconstruction of literary canon, which jokes authority and entertains the public, has been staged in China. Literary canon encountered unprecedented challenges.Many domestic scholars have studied on the literary canon. The several large seminars which were held in 2005 and 2006 had extensive influence. Scholars concerned about four major areas: the concept of literary canon and generation issues; literary canon has encountered challenges in the contemporary; Consider revising the contemporary literary canon and look ahead the future of literary canon.In this paper, I would like to explore the main reasons of that the literary caonon has been deconstructed, through the various pw of the literary canon in the post-modern cultural context. So we can have a correct understanding of contemporary literary canon and envisage the reconstruction of the contemporary literary canon.The main purpose of this paper is though the various characterizations that the literary canon has been deconstructed in the post-modern culture context, and the analysis of the contemporary social and culture context, to explore the main reasons. We will understand the literary canon better.This paper is divided into four chapters: part one mainly analyzes the basic content and the formation of the literary canon. In the second part, the characterizations that the literary canon has been deconstructed in the post-modern culture context have been summarized under four categories: the literary canon is fast-food-oriented; the texts of the literary canon have been made into the images; the literary canon has been popularization and consumerization. The third part analyzes the main reasons: firstly, the consumer society, consumer culture has changed the people's taste of the aesthetic and culture; secondly, image culture has changed in the way of public's cognition; thirdly, evolution of the social and cultural values; fourthly, the mode of production and dissemination of literature has been changed; fifthly, literary diffusion; sixthly, humanistic intellectuals have been differentiation. The fourth part summaries and analyzes: the literary canon in temporary has high culture values. It has spiritual content-rich resources which can bring spiritual consolation to the modern man who is spiritual emptiness. The literary canon has been deconstructed in the post-modern culture context which does not have the same treatment in traditional. However, we should look at the literary canon in the dialectical perspective. Which has been deconstructed in the post-modern culture context is the external form of the literary canon. Its spiritual core is still spreading. We should try to reconstruct for the contemporary literary canon in order to pass along the literary canon from generation to generation.
