The anti-Mongolian (Yuan) war that occurred during mid-to late 13th century is a just war of Han nationality against the barbaric invasion of the Mongolian nomadic nobles. Due to its strategic location, the Kuizhou road located in Bashu has played an extremely prominent role in the war.The anti-Mongolian (Yuan)'s army of Kuizhou road mainly consisted of four major components, they were Tunzhudajun, Jin&Xiangjun, Xinjun and Xiangbing. Although the strength and importance of these forces were different, but each have contributed to the war. Mongolian governmen's military strength and institutions were different during differert times due to the rulers'flexible strategy, but it's military strength was stronger than the military forces of Song Dynasty in general. The Kuizhou road's people and army mainly used the denfensive tactics in anti-Mongolian (Yuan) war, but they also took the initiative to fight back under exceptional circumatances. They fighted bravely and successefully, and defeated the Mongolian's ambitions of conquesting Southern Song Dynasty down from the Yangtze Rivere, they became an important safeguard against Mongolian's invasion in the southwest region.Compared with other roads that also fighted against Mongolian nobles in Song Dynasty, the Kuizhou road have distinct significance, from which there emerged a large number of outstanding patriotic generals and a number of epic stories, and it has achieved larger reputation than other roads. It launched the most outstanding mountain defensive warfare, built the most unique Kui Chu conbine defense system in Southern Song; its anti- Mongolian (Yuan) war lasted longer than others and it fighted most firmly against Mongolian nobles; its suffered most serious situation during the anti-Mongolian (Yuan), its tactics was also most abundant. It has protected the eastern area of Sichuan against the ravage devastation of Mongolia, it reflected the unyielding spirit of Southern Song Dynasty's people, and encouraged the country's enthusiasm against the war, it delayed the fate of Southern Song Dynasty to be conqered by Mongolia, its flexibility in the use of anti-Mongolian (Yuan) tactics had impacts on Song Dynasty's old strategies and prompted it to turn for the better direction. Finally, it forced the Mongolian rulers to change the conquer strategy which created the conditions for eastern Sichuan's economic recovery in the early Yuan Dynasty.Although Kuizhou road is most prominent in the anti-Mongolian war in the Song Dynasty, it failed in the end because of the court's corruption and incompetence. That the Yuan Dynasty replaced the Song Dynasty has become the trend of history, ending the separatist war and accomplishing unification also the mainsteram of history. Kuizhou road can not reverse it, but its civilians and solidiers'brave deeds and unyielding spirits in war will be remembered.
