Research Of Reactive Power Pricing In Electricity Market

The issues of reactive power optimization reactive power services costing and pricing are of great significance. Especially, it is closely related to the security and stability of power market operation However; as the research on it has not received significant attention until recently, the theoiy on it is still not well defined This thesis presents the preliminary analysis and research about the reactive power costing and pricing in the power market environment. The main contributions of the thesis as follow: 1. At first the thesis systematically reviews and summarizes the analysis of reactive power service and the reactive power pricing structures inside and outside the countiy Then this thesis analyses the problems with which the generator units confront under the new operation and manage mechanism, and also the problems of the new partition between the responsibility~ the righL the benefit of each part cpant in power market resulting from the separation of the electricity generation and transmission 2. The thesis presents the idea of dividing the reactive power service into compensated service and volunteer service, giving the criteria for such dividing in view of the electricity generation market In addition, the thesis proposes the analyses methods and arithmetic about the costing of compensated services and the pricing of electric power. 3. The thesis presents a kind of reactive power pricing stnicture on the base of the amended OPF decoupling with the real power under the condition of directly bidding for reactive power. Then by synthetically considering the capital costs of the reactive power fiicilihies and the operating costs of production(explicit costs) the opportunity costs of plant reactive power(implicit costs) the costs of reactive power capacitance the thesis discuss the real time reactive power pricing struce. 4. A software is programmed to calculate the costs of compensated reactive power services and electricity price. The results gained by making examination on the Ward-Hale 6 and IEEE 30 system are satisfactory...
