Automobile industry is the representative of one national industry level. Improving automobile industry is the same choice of every developed country on the route of industrialization. It is the high advance of automobile industry that makes modern economy prosper. The development of international automobile industry proves that automobile industry is the strategic industry accelerating national economy. The car industry is the most important parts of the automobile industry. The article testifies the main function of automotive industry from GDP contribution, industry connection and income elasticity. Utilizing the theory of industry economics article it researches the product status, market competition structure, cost&profit, R&D of car industry. And it notes the reason of backward comparing with international car industry. Through forecasting the demand ability of car markets and analyzing the influence factor of the private car demand in multi-factor linest regression model, author concludes that urging households car consumption is the new growth point of national economy. After china entry into WTO, the car industry will compete with international companies. Using strategy analysis the article puts the long-term development strategy and policy proposition.
