We would like to study the retail industry in Hong Kong at this thesis and try tofind out some strategies to improve the market situation. The thesis is divided into4 parts.The first part ( Chapter 2 ) is that we would like to explain some theories ormodels of retailing and the retailing strategy in order to help people tounderstand and to analyse the retail industry in different perspectives.The second part ( Chapter 3 and 4) is that we try to analyse the Hong Kong retailindustry and list out different categories of retailers for reference. Moreover, wewill show the recent performance of Hong Kong retail industry and point out somereasons of the drop of the turnover.The third part ( Chapter 5 to 7) is that we launched a small survey in order to studythe views of some people at the Hong Kong retailing industry. Moreover, wewould like to find out the factors affect the industry. Furthermore, we analyse themarket situation of Hong Kong and find out the strength and weakness in order tofind out the opportunities for future development.The fourth part (Chapter 8) provides some suggestions for improving the marketenvironment and gives some ideas for the strategy for future development.
