Study On Political Legitimacy

Under the background of the political development and social　transformation,the problem of political legitimacy becomes outstanding increasingly and it is indispensable to understand the political authority. This thesis makes a comprehensive study on the political and social basis of legitimacy from the perspective of political sociology. Two main factors are taken into consideration:one is to have the aid of norm and method of sociology,the other is put political phenomenon into the broad background of social relations and social changes.The thesis mainly covers the following contents:Ⅰ. Discussing and　analyzing the contents, origin,development, basis and maintenance of legitimacy. Ⅱ. Exploring the legitimacy crisis and its social causes existing in the developed as well as the developing countries.Ⅲ. Analyzing the basis of legitimacy in contemporary China ,and seeking an effective way to maintain and strengthen legitimacy of China at the present age.
