A Study On Trends Of International Legislation On Sailor And Countermeasures Of China

Shipping is a business full of risk. Many countries and international organizations,in order to guarantee the development of shipping,have issued plenty of codes and treaties. They also pay close attention to the sailor legislation,for the seaman plays a significant role in shipping business.Since ancient times,China has been a great power in navigation with numerous mariners. The legislation on sailor,however,is too backward to manage the right-insurance and administration of the crew. In pace with the growth of market economy and entry of WTO,the political and economic status of China steps steadily up,which calls for the improvement of legal system,especially the legislation on sailor.Through research into the similar laws and treaties around the world,this thesis advances some countermeasures of China on this matter.
