The Strategic Location Of Wuhan's City Information Promotion

Nowadays, Science and technology has been characterized by information, communication and computer technologies. Accordingly, the whole society of human has been stepping from traditional industry and then swarmed into the tide of knowledge economy. Therefore, The mastery of new technology and new information could enable us to stand the trials of competition in the world. What's more, it is application of information, communication and computer technologies that treasures one nation's modernization, comprehensive national power and the strength and prosperity of economy. And every sign points to the fact that the next five or ten years would be a key period for information technology to be applied and promoted in traditional industry. So, it can be predicted that the application and promotion of information technology would be a striving force to the development of social economy.Wuhan, as a hinge of communication, who is the center of fiber-optic cable transfer net , is at a advantageous position in the basic facilities of information. A host of information projects have been initiated, such as e-government, e-business and so on. Meanwhile, the promotion of information has been developed in many areas, such as finance, traffic, education and so on. With plenty of database and information system being established, there would immediately spring up extensive coverage of information-service industry, which accelerate the development of information industry. In 2001, Wuhan has been located as one of cities of promoting information technology by Information Industry Ministry, which will open a broad development space for Wuhan.In conclusion, the current modernization building of Wuhan is not only aimed at the information center of the middle regions of China, but also at economic and cultural center of Middle China. So, this article analysis abroad and domestic development of information-industries, study the information globalization, and introduce the characteristics and current conditions of China's information-industry development. In doing so, this article puts forward some suggestions about the orientation and the mode of Wuhan's information-industry strategic development.
