Today, globalization and regionalization are running parallel in the world. Participating in both globalization and regionalization is an effective way for most countries' developments. After the entry into WTO in 2001, the born of CAFTA in 2002 is also a great development of bilateral relations and an answer to the call of the times for China and ASEAN. However, doubts and suspicions from all circles caused the deficiency of confidence in the future of CAFTA, owing to the status quo of political and economical relations between China and ASEAN. And more, it perhaps leads to producing some passive influence. So, it is very necessary to have a profound understanding of CAFTA. Together with some theories such as FTA, Inter-dependence, etc, this article deduces that ASEAN is the primary choice for China from geo-strategy's point of view. Establishing CAFTA is not a transient political game or an expedient plan, but a wise act under profound background and foundation of geographical relations. Then, from the short and long-range view, from the angle of geo-economics and geo-politics, this article deeply analyses the significance of establishing CAFTA. At last, from the standpoint of geo-strategy, the article gives some immature ideas of how to construct and promote the positive development of CAFTA.
