The Research Of The Bulk Carrier Fleet Management

The structure adjustment of the bulk carrier fleet is a problem that the ship operators must take into account since it is of vital importance to the long-term development of the related enterprises. Although a great deal of development has been achieved on the bulk carrier fleet of the state-owned shipping company in China since the reform and open polices has taken into effect, there is still a long way to go because of the increasing of the over-aged vessel and the high rate of long-term liabilities. The purpose of this paper is to make a detailed study as regard to the above-mentioned problem and also to make some suggestions and viewpoints by taking advantage of charter-in vessel to solve this problem. In order to make it clearer a detailed research of some world-known shipping companies is made, in additional to a lot of data information used. Apart from all of these, this paper also elaborate on the advantage and disadvantage of making use of charter-in vessels.
