Legal Study On The General On Trade In Services And Strategies On Development Of Trade In Services Of China

Given its significant quantitative growth, trade in services is of substantial importance to the world. After eight years of negotiation, General Agreement on Trade in Services(GATS) was achieved as part of the World Trade Organization(WTO) Agreement. The GATS provides strong foundation and legal framework to regulate and liberalize trade in trade in services. Thus, GATS will have substantial influence on the trade regulatory regime of its member states, including Chinese. Especially after our country became a member of WTO, it's both a challenge and a opportunity for our backward service trades. Focusing on legislation and judicature and basing on the structure of GATS, this thesis makes a good comparison between our legal system of trade in services with GATS. Meanwhile, on the angle combined with legal and practice, this thesis discuss existing problems of our service trades. Based on this point, this thesis puts forward strategies on development of trade in services of China, and to make it enter the international system.
