Competition is the key to decide the fate of an enterprise and at the same time contributes a lot to behavioral profits of an enterprise. In today's society, the competition both in the world and at home becomes keener, so if a company is able to survive in such a situation and even develops, it must possess the ability to compete. Competition is a comprehensive notion that comprises three factors: environment, resources and capacity. While the ability of the world competition among companies of telecommunications refers to whether a company obtains the power to provide telecommunications services now and in the future both in the charge for business and service quality, which is more appealing than those of any other foreign and domestic competitors.This paper aims to conduct researches in the competition among international telecommunications companies and tries to put forward theoretical methods. It rates the competition by making assessment of the present and potential capabilities of telecommunications companies from the aspects of environment, resources and power based on the components of competition and concept. Since telecommunications companies have the feature that they produce and meanwhile are consumed. Therefore the most significant resources of the companies are finances, manpower resources and services. And these three resources are closely related to three markets: money market, manpower resources market and market of business. Hence, to evaluate the competition of such companies can also rely on the three markets. The competition in money market determines whether a company is able to build up funds successfully from the market for development; The competition in manpower resources market decides if a company can attract and keep the staff of fine qualities; The competition in business market helps to find a position for a company in the market and forms foundation of development and increases chances of surviving.This paper endeavors to define the competition of China Telecommunications companies in the world in the light of the above theory, formulates the content and index system of competition assessment, and gives a profound analysis of the differences and their causes. At the end of the paper, it offers proposals for China Telecommunications companies about how to enhance the ability to meet the competition in the world.
