| The compensation mechanism of the tort on the sea is a complex system consisting several factors. The objection of the mechanism is to compensating the loss. My essay will point to the relation existing in the system.Before the existing of the liability insurance, the compensation in the law of the tort on the sea is the only method to remedy the loss at the sea. Along with the development of transportation and operation at sea, the single system can not resolve the compensation totally. Under this background liability insurance was introduced to the compensation mechanism. Insurance companies strengthen the compensation ability. But as we all know, insurance companies are enterprises whose target are seeking the profit. Balancing the profit and liability, insurance companies always choice the profit. And the insurance companies also have the bankrupt risk. So even existing the liability insurance, the loss still can not be compensated completely. Social protection and funds of oil pollution are introduced to the mechanism.In the long distance, our mechanism of the compensation of the tort on the sea is makes up by the law of the tort on the sea, liability insurance and social protection.
