The Empirical Study About FDI And The Economic Growth In Jiangxi

For 20 years of the reforms and the opening to the outside world, the utilization of foreign direct investment (FDI) has always been an important strategy in the process of economic development. It has become a focus for Jiangxi rising at central area in China that how to get hold of the opportunity and enlarge the range of FDI at more open pose; How to accelerate the economic development by making use of FDI to restructure and improve the industries according to the characteristic of resources factors supply and the need of upgrading industrial structure in Jiangxi.It retrospects the documents of correlative theory and the empirical analysis in this thesis. Based on the knowledge of the correlative documents, in the thesis the Granger causation testing between the FDI and macroeconomic growth in Jiangxi is done and the conclusion drawn is: since the mid of 1980s, FDI promotes the economic growth of Jiangxi, but the economic growth isn't the reason of the FDI growth. And the following jobs are done by way of econometrics testing: (1)Measuring the contribution rate of FDI to the economic growth in Jiangxi. (2)The Empirical Study on the effect of FDI on the industry increasing and the technological advance in Jiangxi. (3)The Empirical Study on the effect of FDI on investment in fixed assets in Jiangxi. (4)The Empirical Study on the effect of FDI on industrial structure in Jiangxi. In the third part, the author makes the horizontal comparison on the effect of FDI on investment in fixed assets between Jiangxi and other provinces in central area of China. In the forth part, in terms of FDI, the author analyzes how to make and carry on new industrial policies to take advantage of FDI to adjust the industrial structure by means of correlative industrial economics. The empirical analysis of the above is the innovation of the thesis.Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of making use of FDI in Jiangxi are pointed out by comparing the macroeconomics quotas between Jiangxi and the other provinces in central area of China. The author puts forward the mode of thought that "the policy preference more important, but institutional construction less". It elaborates how to make use of the industrial cluster theory to spur the FDI playing greater part in industrial gathering effect. The author also gives some suggestions on attracting FDI in Jiangxi.
