An Argumentation On Korean Peninsula Unification Pattern

This dissertation firstly expounds the definition, characteristics and the unification symbol of the divided nations after the Second World War. Then it creates six different patterns in the process of divided nation's unification- the socialist country overcomes the capitalist one by violent pattern, and the capitalist country overcomes the socialist one by violent pattern; the socialist country absorbs the capitalist one by assimilation pattern, and the capitalist country absorbs the socialist one by assimilation pattern; political integration before economy pattern, and economic integration before politics pattern. Therefore, by adopting "System Control Theory'1, this paper tries to explain three key elements, which play important parts in the unification pattern of the divided nations, and they are "system interior factor", "system exterior factor", and "system decision: the choices of unification patterns".Based on these theories, this paper focuses on "the Korean peninsula unification", spreading out the three elements of Korean peninsula unification patterns, and they are "system interior factor", "system exterior factor", and "system decision". In the "interior factor" chapter, it interprets the circumstances and unification policies of North Korea and South Korea. In the "exterior factor" chapter, it assays the important role in the geopolitical strategy of the Korean peninsula, and insulates the nation interests of the United States, China, Japan, and Russia in this place. In the "system decision: the choices of unification patterns " this emphasis chapter, the paper discusses the six patterns in the process of Korean unification, which are North Korea overcomes South Korea by violence pattern, and South Korea overcomes North Korea by violence pattern; North Korea absorbs South Korea by assimilation pattern, and South Korea absorbs North Korea by assimilation pattern; political integration before economy pattern, and economic integration before politics pattern. Then this paper canvasses the inner and outer factors' games on the six unification pattern choices of Korean peninsula.By comparing these six unification patterns, this dissertation wants to draw one conclusion: "economic integration before politics" is the best pattern in Korean peninsula unification. Besides this, it tries to analyze the principles in Korean unification and table the constructive proposals to China policies in this process.
