Korean Peninsula Geo-strategic Research

Korean Peninsula is located in northeast of Asia with its east adjacent to Japanese Sea and its north next to China. Because of its special geographic location, Korea Peninsula had become the objective which Japan and Russia tried their best to dominate since the decline of China's Feudal dynasty. Since the beginning of the Modern Era, there had several wars for the domination of Korea. After the World WarII, America began to interfere in Korea's business and China, America, Japan and Russia began to scramble for spheres of influence in Korea. The split of Korea is the result of contension of hegemony between America and Russia. After the eruption of Korea's Nuclear Issue, Korea aroused international society's abroad attention. The sensitivity and fatalness of Korea's Nuclear Issue make China realized the importance of Korea to China's safety. To China, Korea Peninsula is not only meaninful in traditional safe area, but also meaningful in geopolitics. Therefore, China have taken the opportunity offered by Korea's Nuclear Issue to restore its traditional influence on Korea. China, America, Japan and Russia cooperate in dealing with Korea's Nuclear Issue. The settlement of Korea's Nuclear Issue lies in North Korea and America, and at the same time it can not be settled without related Big Power's cooperation and coordination. As regard to China, keeping Korean Peninsula's peace is its interest and China have always contributed to this purpose.The unification of Korean Peninsula accord with China's interests. After Korean Peninsula unify, it will become an important player in Northeast Asia. It would cooperate with China in trade, safe area, international politics and other areas and contribute to the peace of Northeast Asia. Korean Peninsula would carry out balanced foreign policy and do not relay on America any more, this is good at probibiting Amecia using Korean Peninsula to build military encircled countries aimed at China in East Asia.
