A Study On Technological Progress And Policy Orientation In Guangdong's Industrialization

As the result of development for decades, the industrial structure in Guangdong has been greatly upgraded and optimized. A pattern has taken its initial shape which is composed of the principal high-tech industry and the booming new-bom industry, traditional industry, and potential industry. The Sixteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China established the strategy of accelerating industrialization by informationization and promoting informationization by industrialization, which aims to a new type of industrialization featured with high technology, desirable benefit, low resource consumption, less pollution, and full utilization of human resource.The industrialization in Guangdong is in the process of transition from the mid-later stage to the later stage. The industry needs to accomplish its own modernization on the one hand, and to equip other economic fields with advanced technology on the other. Therefore, technological progress, as a key factor to promote industrialization, becomes more and more important. This necessitates a full analysis on the technological progress in Guangdong's industrialization. Focusing on this topic, my dissertation is divided into fives parts as follows to analyze the current situation of technological progress and its impacts on Guangdong's industrialization from different levels and perspectives.I. The brief review of the history and status quo of industrialization in Guangdong, and the necessity of analyzing technological progress;II. The notion and importance of technological progress, and the problems found in Guangdong;III. The indicator system of technological progress, and the explanation of some key indicators.IV. The evaluation of technological progress in Guangdong's industry, including the ability of technological innovation and its contribution to the industry growth; andV. The policy orientation of technological progress in Guangdong's industrialization.
