Study On The Technological Innovation Of Chinese Auto Industry

With the accelerated tendency of the global economic integration and the rapid development of science and technology throughout the world, the great changes are taking place in the scientific and technological innovation in the international auto industry. Technological innovation has become a powerful motivation of the continuously developing auto industry. During the course of China being new-type industrialized, the auto industry is a pillar industry of the national economy which plays an important strategic role in the national economic development. However, compared with developed countries of auto industry in the world, Chinese auto industry lags much behind in the industrial technology innovation and engineering levels. Strengthening the technological innovation and promote the technological innovation abilities of China's auto industry is of great importance to the acceleration of China's national economic development. So, study the technological innovation of Chinese auto industry has greater usage value and realistic directive significance. In this paper the author has studied the technological innovation problems of the China's auto industry. First of all, based on industry economics, development economics and the innovation theory, he has analysed the technological innovation's influnece on the development of auto industry. He has pointed out the characteristics of every stage of innovative trends and their roles in promoting the development of the industry. Not only the concept of the life cycle of the auto industry has been proposed but also different technological innovation characteristics of each stage (the budding stage , the growing stage , the mature stage and the declining stage). He has come up with problems which should be paid attention to in technological innovation in the auto industry of developing countries. In addition, the author has also defined the concept of technological innovation in this paper and explained the characteristics of technological innovation and relevant concepts. He thinks that the technological innovation is neither a pure economics category nor a purely technological category, but a combination of economy and technology which unifys, promotes and transforms each other. It is a economic category which has economic characteristics and technological characteristics as well. Secondly, the author has also analysed in this paper the innovative modes in tecnological innovation such as the autonomous innovation, the imitating innovation and the cooperation innovation. Combined with the practical examples and theoratical analysis in Korea, the viewpoint has been put forward that imitating innovation is an effective way for industrially developing countries to catch up with and surpass industrially developed countries in the world. After studying the characteristics of technological innovation of auto industry, the author has probed into the function of technological innovation in promoting the development of auto industry. Thirdly, in this paper the author has presented the developmental characteristics and current technological levels as well as the development trend of technological innovation in the auto industry in the world. The present situation of the technological capability of China's auto industry and the disparity lagging behind the auto industrial technology development of the world have been studied in this paper. On the basis of the research of problems and causes exsiting in the technological innovation of China's auto industry, He thinks that the major reasons of the low innovative abilities of China's industrial technology lie in four respects, namely, the function of the main body, enterprises themselves, in technology innovation is not fully given; the input on research and development is insufficient; lack of innovative talents; the whole automobile trade fails to deal with the ralationship between technology import and reinnovation.
