Electronic product machining is a new line of work emerged from global manufacturing cooperation. The features of this kind of enterprises are of capital-intensified and high value of product technology added. But as a machining enterprise, the main way of value adding is labor. The core of electronic manufacturing management is quality management. The features of quality management are: l). Process oriented; 2). Quantification and statistical; 3). Diversity of input factors and liable to impact on system; 4). Quality concept of management team would have a core affection; 5).Total member participation.The overall level of facilities of chinese machining manufacturers have almost reached those of world class. However, the administrative and quality management is much lower than world class level. The main aspect of our weaknesses in our industries is higher quality cost. Searching for the cause, we found two main aspects: 1). The culture conflicts brought by global manufacturing; 2). Weakness of using statistic technology. Therefore, it is a critical job for us to seek for advance management method to improve quality management.Six Sigma management concept should be adapted base on quality development history, the theory and methodology of Six Sigma is introduced in detail in this paper. Six Sigma is a statistical measure of variability,typically in a given process,and a business per-formance target specifically focused on critical customer specifications. It can help corporations to make the greatest achievements by quantitative analysis solving problems and optimize critical processes forwardly.Six Sigma management came of Motorola, and developed by GE in 1990s', who has being implemented worldwide with a tremendous speed and won a lot of achievement. The principle of " Six Sigma " is to control the variability of process system, which means to get business profit though the saving of reducing process variation. "6 sigma" has an entire management organization, which includes champion, master black belt, black belt and green belt. This paper states a detail method to promote four steps: measurement, analysis, improvement and control of "6 sigma" to practical work with an actual example in electronic product machining enterprise and describes the meaning, application and key points of each tools and their critical notes as well. A summary is put at the end as conclusion of this field for our reference.
