Estimation The Contribution Of High-Tech To Economic Growth

From 80's in 20 century, the worldwide nations develop high-tech by generously inputing in labour powers and materiels, which grives rise to a new research area, the affect of high-tech to the economic growth. This paper focuses on the estimation in this research area, especially the estimation the contribution of high-tech to economic growth.Now ecomomics is influenced deeply by high-tech, which has the core of the information technology. Under this background, the models, which are used to estimate the contribution of the technological progress to economics growth in neoclassical economics, can't effectively explain some certain objects, such as China, which lies in the lower degree of industrilization and has been deeply affected by the higy-tech. So we need a new method to resolve this problem. There is a new model in this paper, which can be used to estimate the contribution of high-tech to economic growth, based on Feder's model and the hypothesis of the difference of the marginal factor productivities between high-tceh and non-high-tech. This model has three functions: first, estimating the contribution of high-tech to economic growth; second, estimating the direct and indirect contribution of high-tech to economic growth; finally, estimating the ratio of marginal factor productivies in the two sectors. Meanwhile this model also can be used to study the action way and character of high-tech to economic growth in different high-tech developing periods to support policies and measures about high-tech.To verify' the hypothesis of the model, there is substantial evidence aboutestimating the contribution of high-tech in Chendu high-tech district to Chendu economic growth. We get the estimation model by collecting data and imitatitating with the SPSS software. The estimation proves the hylothesis of the modle and supports the polcies of developing high-tech in Chendu.
