The Research On Pulling Effect Of High-tech Products Exports On Chinese Economic Growth

This paper based on the status of export of Hi-tech products in China analyzed the problems on export of Hi-tech product in China. The main problems list below: First, the export of Hi-tech products developed unbalance in terms of profession. Second, the main body of export is controlled by foreign investment companies. Third, export processing is the main trade method and the added value of product is relatively lower.The second chapter studies the actual pulling-effect of Hi-tech products to the economic growth from the demanding aspect. The paper takes the annual data of Hi-tech products from 1992 to 2003 and uses the method of 2SLS to have the theoretical and positive research on the Hi-tech products' pulling effect to the economic growth. The research proves that: First, Hi-tech products and non-Hi-tech manufacture products' export both have the pulling effect for the economic growth, however, the primary products don't have the pulling effect for the economic growth in general. Second, at present, economic growth's effect of Hi-tech product is less stronger than that of non Hi-tech manufacture products, because of the leak of import of Hi-tech products caused by export. Third, In order to improve the effect of Hi-tech products to economic growth, we need to form an industry which matches with the Hi-tech industry. So that we can reduce the dependence on foreign intermediate products. What's more, the effect of Hi-tech products to the economic growth not only embodies directly through export, but also embodies through domestic investment, FDI, and the indirect effect of economic growth caused by consuming. Lastly, FDI motivates the export of Hi-tech products not the export of Hi-tech products spurs the increase of FDI. In addition to it, the paper studied that Hi-tech products from all the provinces and cities have actual pulling effect on economic growth and concluded that the main reasons for the differences of district economics' increase lie in: science and technology, investment, economic vitality, industry construction the capability of creativity, the opening extent of trade, FDI and the inspiring mechanism of system.As to improving the economic growth's pulling of Hi-tech products export, some policy advices are proposed at the end of the paper from following aspects: the system of national creativity, external policies, government purchase gardening district development etc.
