A Study On The Scientific And Technological Quality Of Farmers In The Suburb Of Wuhan

There are many factors, which can have effect on the advancement of the agricultural science and technology and developing agriculture of high yield, quality and efficiency. Out of the above factors, the scientific and technological quality of the farmers is the crucial factor. Farmers are the main body in agricultural activities, and their level of scientific and technological quality can determine the trend of agriculture in China. It is very important to enhance scientific and technological quality of the farmers for developing modern agriculture, increasing the income of the farmer and establishing one prosperous rural society. Therefore, finding out the current status of the scientific and technological quality of the farmers and analyzing the factors that affect scientific and technological quality of the farmer is very necessary.In the theoretical frame of socialization and with methods of modern social survey, 300 farmers in the suburb of Wuhan were selected to be the sample. The paper explains the current status of the scientific and technological quality of the farmers in the suburb of Wuhan and analyzing the factors that affect scientific and technological quality of the farmers. Based on deep research and discussion, some referenced conclusions that are popular in population are reached.In Part One, the author reviews the relative literature, and proposes the issue, the purpose, significance, thinking path and method of research.Part Two describes the current status of the scientific and technological quality of the farmers in the suburb of Wuhan and puts forward the existing problems. The author thinks that the scientific and technological quality of the farmers cannot meet the requirement of the agricultural development presently.Part Three analyses the factors that affect the scientific and technological quality, such as personal factors, family factors, educational factors, fellow group factors, public media and so on.In Part Four, some conclusions and thinking are got. The author believes that: educational attainment has a direct and important effect on the scientific and technological quality of farmers; out of the factors related to family, the size and structure of family is outstandingly affecting the scientific and technological quality of farmers; nowadays, education in rural regions can not meet the requirement of the development of market economy and modernization of farmers themselves; the experiences accumulated during working in other places has a significant effect on the enhancement of the scientific and technological quality of farmers. Finally, the author provides some suggestions to enhance the scientific and technological quality of farmers, and some lacks in this paper are objectively pointed out.
