A Study On International Sourcing Under Global Logistics Environment

In the trend of globalization, international sourcing becomes an important method for international companies to survive the severe competition. As more and more international companies take it as a key issue in future development, successful management on outsourcing becomes one of the central parts of companies' operations strategies.Based on procedure analysis, this thesis offers introduction of international sourcing and conduct research on its main issues: transportation, suppliers and risk management.First, following the comparison of global sourcing and traditional sourcing, this paper introduces the JIT system ant its features. Second, in addition to the theory of supply cooperation, a series of index is presented as standard to evaluate suppliers. Third, referring to the complexity of international transportation, reference methods are presented to help deciding transportation plan. Forth, in special concern of the risks aroused by JIT system, the paper offers an alternative to JIT and develops a strategy in risk control, together with author's suggestion in decision-making.
