Facing the fierce competition of market, it is very important for companies to make a marketing strategy with little risk but much benefits .The development of world economy indicates that Diversification Strategy has become one of the important strategic ways that make companies keep growing and developing .After a period of developing, company begins to think about carrying out Diversification Strategy to pursue scale economy, make best use of its resource and enhance its competition. Most of overseas companies implement cross field Diversification Strategy. Currently, this has become a trend of modern companies. Since 1960s, Diversification Strategy has been widely used in the countries, such as Germany, England, Canada etc, becoming an important strategy for a company's growing. Therefore, the study of it is becoming popular.In China, this is also a trend, lots of companies has implemented this strategy, especially those companies with their own shares. In this course some companies succeed, and some companies fail, they neither reach their fixed aim by it, nor promote its development. Generally speaking, the purpose of implementing this strategy is to reduce risks, increase its benefits and enlarge its scale. Can the companies fulfill its aim of reducing risks and promoting its benefit? What is the relationship between multiply and companies' risks and benefits? In china, why do some companies succeeded while others failed? I try to analyze this problem through researching 45 companies as examples.This dissertation consists of five parts, including preface and 4 chapters. In the preface it introduces its aim and significance; the range and methods of studying, and the present situation of this subject in china and abroad. Chapter 1 tells us the concept of Diversification Strategy and some problems we should pay attention to during the process of implementation. Chapter 2 introduces the situation and trend of Diversification Strategy in China. Chapter 3 is a part of quantitative analysis and the essential part. In this chapter it analyses the relationship between Diversification Strategy and company's risk and benefit through researching 45 listed-companies as examples in order to get a conclusion. Chapter 4 is the conclusion of this dissertation; mainly concluding the approaches of diversification -operation and the thought from the research.
