Research On The Promotion Of Shanghai's Urban Function By Developing Producer Services

Along with the arrival of service economy, service industry is taking more and more role in national economy and employment, and has become the industry taking a absolutely leading position in national economy. Since the 70's of 20th century, the development of producer services is rapid, which has developed fastest in service industry and become the focus of foreign investment. The functions such as finance, information, trade and innovation in the producer services, strongly gave rise to the radiated and collective effect, greatly promoted city's synthesized function, and strengthened city's competition power in the region and even the whole world, which accelerated the modernization and internationalization of city. Therefore, the development of producer services and the promotion of urban function are supplemented and complement each other. Since the reform and opening up, Shanghai preferentially develops the " three, two and one " industry of service industry, takes the strategic objective of "one tap, four centers ", quickens the course of the strategy adjustment of industrial structure which gradually pushes the industrial structure to seniorization and forms the new pattern of economical increase in the co-development of manufacturing industry and service industry. The producer services develop rapidly, walking in the front row of the whole nation and deeply influencing the promotion of city economy and urban function through scope enlargements and level-promotion directly. On the other hand, it drives other industries developing quickly and makes city economy and urban function moving upward to a new footstep indirectly. The paper based on the research from home and overseas, analyses the developing characteristics, space arrangement and influencing factors of producer services with the research way of comparison and structure analysis, probed into the relation between the development of producer services and the promotion of urban function in Shanghai, pointed out the questions, and put forward to the policy suggestions for promoting Shanghai's urban function by developing producer services.This paper includes five parts. Chapter One: chiefly introduces the meaning of selected topic, the related conceptions of producer services, the retrospection of related research from home and overseas, research thought and the frame, and so on; Chapter Two: analyses the employment structure of developed countries and the significant status and current situation of producer services in New York, London and so on; Chapter Three: mainly analyses the development course and distribution features of producer services in Shanghai and sum up the influencing factors; Chapter Four: concludes the changing trend of urban function, analyses the change of Shanghai's urban function and changing cause, and discusses the influence of producer services to Shanghai urban function from the industry structure, collecting and loosing function, and city space state on basis of the above; Chapter Five: puts forward some countermeasures for further developing Shanghai's producer services to promote urban function in connection with the existent questions in the development of Shanghai's producer services and the promotion of urban function.
