| Equipment manufacture industry is the general description of the manufacture industry that provides production and technology equipment for national economy and national defense construction. To establish strong Equipment manufacture industry is the vital basis for improving China's comprehensive national power and the fundamental condition to achieve our goal of socialized modernization. At present, there are still great gaps in integral level of Equipment manufacture industry between China and developed countries. We must speed our steps to overstep world power. The economic globalization make the world market into the competitive arena for enterprises in different countries. Competitiveness become the vital factor for success and failure. The main problems we are now facing in China's equipment manufacture industry is the lack of competitive power, low integral level and the requirement of the import of large technical equipment. If we can not impel our equipment manufacture industry into mightiness quickly, it will generate important influence for China's international competitiveness . In point of this issue, the thesis carried out some researches in the theory of industrial international competitiveness and the impact factor to the equipment industry.1. Some important factors of the intermational competitiveness of industry Through studies about varieties of theories related to international competitiveness of industry ,the thesis brings forward several kinds of important factors which have affection on the international competitiveness of industry.they are government function industry organization and technique advancement.(1) Government Function(it means the economic function of government here) In the theories of western economics,different schools according to their premises can be classified into two categories:one is the theory of governmental interferenceï¼›the other is the theory of liberalism.(2) Industry Organization There are three basic categories in the modern theory of industry organization:Structure,Conduct and Performance(SPC).Degree of market integration,discrimination of products and the barrier to the entry of new enterprises are three main factors which affect the market structure. (3) Technique Advancement The technique innovations help to improve the efficiency of elements producing,lower the operation cost,strengthen the exporting advantage of the product.2. The present status of the development of the equipment manufacture industry(1).The world equipment manufacture industry is developing towards globalization, information and service because of the development of modern technology. (2).There are still some important problems in our equipment manufacture industry, such as weakness and smallness in big enterprise, unspecialized status in small enterprise, severe separation and repetition, low level in production technology and weak technical innovation capability. There are still great gaps in integral level between China and developed countries.3. The analysis of the international competitiveness in equipment industry(1).To measure the international competitive power of China's basic equipment industry by employing Revealed Comparative Advantage Index(RCA) and Trade Specialization Cofficient(TSC), we can find out that the international competitive power in labor-intensive industry and capital-intensive industry is relatively strong, but other technology-intensive enterprises are still in the relatively weak position. The trade specialization index in China's basic equipment industry is comparatively low with evident trend of import specialization.
