Enterprise's Efficiency: Theoretical Research And Practical Evidence

This paper aims to take an independent study both theoretically and demonstratively on the "enterprise efficiency "problem which is usually seen but controversial in the economic region.On the facet of theoretical study, this paper attempts to make clear the correlative clue and range of "enterprise efficiency" problem, present the main status of related measurement method and the technique result in order to offer a basic platform to the discussion of "enterprise efficiency" problem.Therefore, this paper will distinguish the concept of "enterprise efficiency" from three distinct aspects of non-professional term, enterprise management and economics respectively. Based on the analysis and arrangement of the related economic theory and research, this paper makes their separate theoretical opinions in series to be a logically whole theoretical system. And also establish the theoretical relations between the research of domestic "enterprise efficiency" and western economics by analyzing the relationship between the two concepts of "economic benefit" and "economic efficiency".Otherwise, this paper summarizes and distinguishes the two analysis techniques on "enterprise efficiency", and describe the main condition opinions and the latest development of research on Chinese enterprise efficiency by concluding the representative research results.On the facet of demonstrative research, with help of abundant enterprise statistics data commanded by the author through years' pursuing statistics and survey work, this paper will take an independent demonstrative research on the real conditions of our enterprise efficiency. And get independent analysis conclusions on efficiency characteristics and questions of our enterprises by contrasting with correlative demonstrative research result. The main conclusions are:1 The trend of the "efficiency" change of the sample enterprises during the survey term is increasing or improving on the whole;2 The increase of labor productivity is far higher than that of the capital efficiency.3 enterprise scale is still the important factor determining enterprise efficiency, but the enterprise efficiency gap determined by enterprise scale difference is decreasing.4 There exists efficiency gap among enterprises with different properties, however, the relative efficiency structures do not change a lot during the survey term, and there doesnot appear the conditions that the relative efficiency of national enterprises decreased constantly as that happened from 1980s to 1990s.5 > The main factor determining national enterprise efficiency is enterprise scale. The gap of enterprise efficiency between large enterprises and medium&small enterprises is expanding constantly, and the main reason restraining the relative efficiency of national enterprises is that the efficiency of national medium&small enterprises id too low.
