Generalized system of preferences (GSP), provided by developed countries to developing countries since 1970's, is a kind of unilateral tariff preference system, with the main purpose of accelerating the growth of developing countries' export. GSP has been benefiting extensively all aspects of China's export. However, due to people's inadequate knowledge of GSP, it hasn't been made full use of and China's export is confronting a variety of restrictions imposed by preference-giving countries' protective measures. Therefore, in this article, I analyze the principle of how GSP influences China's export through theoretical means and real examples, reveal its effect on promoting export and probe into means to help Chinese export corporations to make full use of GSP and to evade Graduation Clause. There are six chapters in this article. Chapter One introduces the status quo of how China is enjoying GSP. Chapter Two to Five analyze respectively GSP's effect on the scale, structure, geographical trading direction and trading pattern of China's export. When analyzing GSP's effect on the scale of China's export, I apply tariff-privilege model of GSP; while analyzing that on other aspects, I mainly employ theoretical means on basis of GSP's detailed rules and regulations. Besides, I also use statistics of issuing certificates and that of each aspect of China's export as real examples. Chapter Six gives suggestions and makes conclusion, which are obtained from the analysis in the former chapters and my real work experience of GSP certificate-issuing.
