With the rapid development of technical renovation and the coming of informatization, industry convergence is becoming more and more important In the process of industry economy. It is a new kind of industrial revolution based on the development and convergence of technology, and will lead to deep changes of the economic systems. The preconditions for industry convergence include convergence in technology, operation, market and change in industry governance. The convergence is to cause much the new product with the emergence that new service. It causes basic change in the industrial development foundation, structure, framework and area distribution, to produce to synthesize the influence to whole economy and society.In this paper the research of industrial convergence is summarized, it analyzes the concept and essence of technological and industrial convergence. Based on the basic principle of economics and management science, it analyzes the different kinds of convergence between the high-technological industries and traditional industries. Besides, it analyzes the economic mechanism, which enriches and impacts traditional theories of industry economics. Lastly, it makes advices for enterprises and government to promote the development of industry convergence in the informational age.
