In the modern-contemporary human history, especially in 21 century, people use knowledge to remake nature to meet the needs, and all kinds of technologies and inventions develop in a extreme speed providing more and more fields and probabilities of value choices, as a result people's condition of existence and quality of life are keeping rising. But, on the contrary , the "Death Quality" of moderns is maintaining lower. People are so busy in chasing , choosing and achieving material life and wealth, and they gradually lose the ability to realize the ultimate significance and value of life. Accordingly, "Death" which is about essence of life has been get rid out of the moderns' mind. All mentioned above have caused the lower of the moderns' "Death Quality" and the worse of their existence, and which mirrored in the Youth is rising rate of suicide, cruel behavior, taking life lightly and the vogue of the hedonism. The reason is not only the historical traditions, the morals or the social realities, but also the backward of "Death Education". In our country, the backward of "Death Education" is more serious. One reason is the national value orientation of favoring "perfection" and "flawlessness", which has been making Chinese people hate and keep silence on the word of "death". On the other hand, the concept of "Death Education" in Chinese is translated from English, and is liable to be misunderstood the real meaning —— to help the Youth to build up the reasonable and correct outlook on death, so that they can have the reasonable and correct outlook on life , and promote the life quality. The basic starting point and fundamental goal of "Death Education" is "life", to live well by understanding the deep significance of death to life. The paper will emphasize the idea of "Death Education". This thesis falls into three parts: The first, it unscrambles "death" through looking back to the historical development of domestic and foreign philosophy, and makes it be the theoretically basis for the following. The second, this paper discusses concern over the consciousness of death, the angst of death and the transcendence of death respectively to describe the "reasonable and correct" outlook on death. At the last, the author tries to explain the idea of "Death Education" in the following three parties: the connotation of "Death Education", the realistic practice of "Death Education" and ultimate concern of "Death Education". "Death Education" aims to lead the Youth to understand the real significance of death and to bravely undertake self-death so that they can live a real life and gain the freedom and honor of life before the threat of death. Education faces life and concerns about the spirit and ghost. The process of education is just the "growth of spirit" of the educational object. To consider death —— the other dimension of life is greatly significant for the education object to get the meaning of life and realize the value of life, and this is why "Death Education" is absolutely necessary.
