Since 2007, the Party central committee has proposed the promotion of the important strategic task of the Popularization of Marxism in Contemporary China, domestic academic research has been carried out in increasing depth on concerned matters, and has made positive progress. The question is whether Marxism in contemporary China can be accepted by the masses or can it retain the position of ideological leadership, which is crucial to the Chinese Communist Party's ruling status being consolidated, so that the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics will eventually succeed. The seventeenth meeting of the Chinese Communist Party introduced the strategic task of ensuring the common acceptance of Marxist thinking. But in fact, the intention of ensuring universal understanding of Marxist theories has been in China ever since they were first introduced, particularly in the early twentieth century and most especially in the 1930's. The representatives of Chinese Communists, such as Mao Zedong and Ai Siqi, advocated the universal understanding of Marxist theories, and gained great success in communicating these to the masses. Chairman Mao's brilliant thoughts were conveyed in books about Opposition to dogmatism, On Practice and On Contradiction. These books not only transformed Marxism for the Chinese, but also acted as representatives of the Popularization of Marxism to the world. Ai Siqi's classic book Popular Philosophy also played an important role in publicising Marxism. Marxism, Communism and China all interacted, synthesised, and evolved to produce the system known today.Since the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, several generations of leaders have all worked to take the theories of Marxism, combine them with the Chinese revolutionary ideology, and use them to build a socialist society, through the dissemination of propaganda to the masses in order to communicate to the people the newest theories about how to adapt Marxism to the society of China. Through deep analysis of the experiences of China's progression in putting the theories of Marxism into practice, fleshed out in law, China has been able to advance towards a system of socialism with Chinese characteristics with positive influences in propagating and the building of a socialist society. In the process of clarifying and putting the theories of Marxism into practice, some pitfalls have been encountered, such as rigid theories, and gaps between the theory and practice of a socialist society, and the universal spreading of Marxism has been carried out in a monotonous way. There has been insufficient strength in persuading the masses to be zealous in their Marxist ideology, and too little research has been conducted on foreign methods of applying Communism to their societies. These pitfalls are lessons that we should learn from and avoid. On the basis of adherence to Marxism, combining theory and practice, and using a variety of methods of dissemination, combined with studies of the experiences of universal communism in foreign countries, significant progress has been achieved and solutions realised. They have realistic and theoretic value in developing Marxism in modern China, making Marxism more accessible, cohesive, enchanting.
