Research Of Liu Shaoqi's Social Construction Ideology

Harmoniousness is a kind of ideally social lifestyle that everyone desires to achieve. In fact, the Chinese leaders of several generations have all made unremitting efforts toward this social goal. However, social construction is an important channel to reach harmonious society. Since New China came into being, Liu Shaoqi has made massive effect in the course of social construction. It should be mentioned that the "Harmonious society" concept is not developed by Liu, but he has applied it in practice during his life. Liu Shaoqi has deeply and clearly thought about some questions regarding to what is socialist society and how to develop it. He has developed his own idea and position in the area of education, labor employment, social distribution system, social security, and social management. All these have played important roles in the social development at that time.This paper is to study Liu Shaoqi's ideology about social development in the early days after the founding of New China. The purposes of this paper are to solving current problems of social development, perfecting the social development theoretical building, improving new ideas through analyzes the social conditions and Liu's contribution to Marxism, Constructing the system of Liu Shaoqi's social construction.Six main chapters are included in this paper: Chapter One is an introduction, it is going to explain the concept of "social construction" and other relevant problems, review the current situation, and then point out the research method, structure and the innovations.Chapter Two will cast back several conditions in the Liu's idea of social construction which includes:theoretical conditions, economic conditions, political conditions and so on. To point out Liu's idea is based on the fundamental principles of Marxism-Leninism; it's according to the Mao Zedong's idea about social development; it is under the background of New China's economic and political conditions; and it was improved during the social practices.Chapter three is about the developments of Liu's idea. There are three periods:The new-democratic period (1921-1949), Transitional period (1949-1956), and Society construction period (1956-1966).Chapter four will discuss about the important actions, such as improvement of the quality of the Chinese population, development of education; reform labor system and expand employment; handle the national revenue distribution; correctly handle the contradictions among the people and other various social contradictions.Chapter Five will make a rational analysis on the evaluation of Liu's ideology about social construction. Liu Shaoqi's thoughts have a high value of Marxism, but there are also some obvious contradictions. Because of these, we can find a lot of inspiration to the current social development as reference to offer experiences and edification to build socialism with Chinese characteristics and to achieve the harmonious society.Chapter Six is conclusion...
