As to the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, the discussion is concentrated on the relation betwween CCD and WTO. On this basis, this article analysis from a new angle that "trade versus culture in the digital enveriment".Nowaday, the digital Technology is permeated in every field of our life, we can say we are entering into a digital enveriment. the digital environment has changed the creation, distribution and the access of the cultural product.The article focus on the relation between the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions and the WTO in the digital environmentThe article explores first the significance and the flaw of the CCD in coordinating the trade and culture, then provides some framework to make WTO going with CCD, more"neutral", and to become more conductive to the pursuit of cultural diversity and taking into account the changed reality of digital media.Except for the WTO, this article also looks at other facets of the profoundly fragment culture-related regulation. It is argued that a number of feasible solutions exist in and beyond the politically charged confrontation of trade versus culture and that the new digital media landscape may require a readjustment of priorities and the tools for the achievement of the widely accepted objective of cultural diversity.
