The Political Appeal And Contemporary Value Of "Liquid Modernity" Theory Of Zygmunt Bauman

Zygmunt Bauman is one of the contemporary famous theorists on the study of modernity and post-modern theories, he has done series of deep thinking on political and social issues. In the new century, in order to better describe the current social situation and show the continuity of the development of modernity, he proposed the "liquid modernity" of this new concept. The transformation of the concept is embodied in the development and deepening of Bauman's thought, but Bauman's concern for the situation of individual existence has never changed.This paper has four chapters. The first chapter is a brief course of the development of Bauman's thought, from modernity to post modernity, and finally the liquid modernity, for revealing the reflection and critical spirit in Bauman's thought depth; the second chapter is mainly about the core issues and facing difficulties of "liquid modernity" era,related to globalization, individualization, consumerism and so on; the third chapter further reveals the internal political demands of Bauman in facing real dilemma, including political, institutional, ethics and so on; The fourth chapter briefly reviews the Bauman's thought and its implications for the development of contemporary china. Finally, I would like to point out that Bauman is nothing more than the substance of all the work is to better analyze the individual living conditions in social and political crisis, make a more realistic reflection of social reality.
