Form the "International Religion Freedom Act" was passed in 1998, the United States has announced the"Annual Report on International Religious Freedom" for twelfth. Since the enforcement of the first "annual report" in 1999, the "Office of International Religious Freedom " and "Commission on International Religious Freedom" has designated China as the "Country Particular Concern" in eights years in Gorge W. Bush Administration. These reports criticize China's religious population, religious freedom condition, religious belief status or religious activity, the religious policy and China's government behavior. What's more, the report says: " U.S. officials regularly raise religious freedom issues with government leaders ", " The U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, and the consulates general in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenyang made concerted efforts to encourage greater religious freedom in the country"," Economic measures in effect against the country under the IRFA relate to restriction of exports of crime control and detection instruments and equipment ". The U.S. government has always focused on Chinese religion issue on the Sino-U.S. relation. The religion issue plays an important role to expand its control and increase its international image. Therefore, it is necessary for us to research on the religion factors on the Sino-U.S. relation to hit back at U.S.The main body of this dissertation is divided into five chapters.Chapter one is the theoretical of religion and diplomatic. The Cultural traditions, moral values, religious beliefs and ideologies of the country exert a subtle influence on the people. Religion in American life and politics have quite a lot of the status and role。The United States is amulti一religion country with a strong religious color.Chapter two analyzes the strong religious color of bush administration diplomacy. President George W. Bush describes himself as a"born一again"Christian in the white House, whose speech and foreign politics bear so many moral imprints. Both of the Bushism and Neo-conservatism related to the New Christian Right and the"Neo-Manifest Destiny".Chapter three lists the facts of U.S. religion diplomacy to China. Highlight religious freedom in Human rights diplomacy,Annual Report on China Religious Freedom and Religion Infiltration became Important means in the foreign policies towards China of Bush administration.The fourth paragraph is the analysis on the cause of American religious diplomatic cause. It's easy for us to see the bifurcation between China and the essence of religion. The dream of to be "super country" and the pursuit of interests of the state result in all American activities. The religious diplomacy is just one of means.The fifth part is countermeasures for Chinese government to answer the American religious diplomacy.
