Research On Chinese Citizens' Orderly Participation In Political Affairs

Political participation is a crucial factor of modern politics as it reflects the essence and maturity of political system as well as the process of democratization. Chinese citizens' orderly participation in political affairs is not only in line with the democratic ideals but also corresponding to the value orientation in construction of democratic politics.The orderly participation in political affairs should be legalized, institutionalized, programmed and under the leadership of the Party. As the socialist market economy has been developing tremendously, Chinese citizens' consciousness of the importance of political participation has been enhanced increasingly. Nevertheless, disorderly political participation occasionally happened due to the reasons of relatively short-term democratic system, less-developed democracy, general political unconsciousness, and insufficient political access.The causes lie in the aspects of economy, politics, history, culture, and their own political quality. Therefore, it is the keystone of the thesis to take various elements into consideration and to on a case-by-case basis so as to find out solutions to expand Chinese citizens' orderly participation in political affairs.There are four parts in this thesis:the first part is a brief introduction on the academic background, framework and research method, key point and novelty, and significance of the issue in question. The second part is the fundamental theories. The third part analyses the current situation and explores its causes. The fourth part puts forth the specific solutions to expand Chinese citizens' orderly participation in political affairs.Citizens' orderly participation in political affairs remains one of the essential issues of democratic politics in China. The value and goal of democracy will not be achieved until the realization of citizens' orderly participation in political affairs.
